Terms and Conditions Governing Participation in the Pickleball Tournament

Official Rules, Regulations, and Agreement

Acceptance of Terms

By registering for and/or participating in the Pickleball Tournament (“the Tournament”), each participant (“Participant”) hereby affirms that they have thoroughly reviewed, comprehended, and consented to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as any supplementary instructions, terms, or policies promulgated by the Tournament organizers (“Organizers”). Noncompliance with these Terms and Conditions may result in immediate disqualification from the Tournament.

Eligibility

  • Participants must have attained the age of eighteen (18) years as of the date of the Tournament, unless specified otherwise. Any Participant under the age of eighteen (18) must furnish a written consent form duly executed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • All registration information provided must be accurate and complete. The Organizers reserve the right to deny or revoke entry to the Tournament for any Participant who submits false or incomplete information.

  • Participants may be required to present valid government-issued photographic identification upon request.

Registration and Fees

  • All Participants are required to complete registration by the deadline indicated on the official Tournament website or any official promotional materials.

  • Entry fees, if applicable, must be remitted in full at the time of registration and are non-refundable except at the sole discretion of the Organizers or in the event of Tournament cancellation.

Rules of Play

  • The Tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the official rules of USA Pickleball (or the relevant governing body), subject to any modifications deemed necessary by the Organizers for the purposes of the Tournament format.

  • All decisions rendered by Tournament referees and officials shall be considered final and binding. Any disputes must be addressed in accordance with the procedures established by the Tournament officials.

Code of Conduct

  • Participants are expected to uphold exemplary sportsmanship and exhibit respect towards all officials, volunteers, fellow participants, and spectators at all times.

  • Any behavior deemed abusive, disruptive, or unsportsmanlike may result in a warning, point penalty, or disqualification, at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

  • The use of illegal substances, performance-enhancing drugs, or alcohol during the Tournament is strictly prohibited.

Safety and Medical Matters

  • Participants acknowledge and accept all risks inherent in playing pickleball, which may include, but are not limited to, physical injury, accident, or illness.

  • Participants are responsible for obtaining and maintaining their own medical insurance coverage.

  • In the event of a medical emergency, the Organizers reserve the right to arrange or provide emergency medical treatment as deemed appropriate. Participants agree to hold the Organizers harmless for any such actions.

Release of Liability

By participating in the Tournament, Participants (and, if under eighteen (18), their parent or legal guardian) expressly waive, release, and discharge the Organizers, sponsors, referees, staff, volunteers, and associated facilities from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising from any loss, injury, damage, or liability sustained as a result of participation in the Tournament, except in instances of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the Organizers.

Photography, Videography, and Media Release

  • Participants hereby grant the Organizers the perpetual right to utilize their name, image, likeness, voice, and biographical information for any lawful purpose related to the Tournament, including but not limited to promotional and marketing materials, broadcasts, and social media, without remuneration.

  • Participants are prohibited from recording, broadcasting, or transmitting Tournament matches without the prior written consent of the Organizers.

Privacy and Data Protection

  • The Organizers will collect and process personal data provided during registration solely for the administration, communication, and promotion of the Tournament.

  • All personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and will not be sold or disclosed to third parties without consent.

Cancellations, Postponement, and Force Majeure

  • The Organizers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the format, schedule, or location of the Tournament in the event of circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, insufficient participation, natural disasters, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.

  • In the event of cancellation, Participants may be eligible for a refund of registration fees at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

Disqualification and Removal

The Organizers reserve the exclusive right to disqualify or remove any Participant who violates these Terms and Conditions, the rules of play, or who engages in conduct deemed unsportsmanlike, unsafe, or detrimental to the integrity of the Tournament.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Tournament is held, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

  • Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, or the Tournament, shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, may be submitted to the courts of the applicable jurisdiction for adjudication.

Amendments

The Organizers reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any modifications shall be posted on the official Tournament website and/or communicated directly to Participants. Continued participation in the Tournament following such amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
